• フィルミングを始めたきっかけ：
  21歳くらいの頃、スケートボードをすること以外の何かが欲しくて。それで最初は写真を撮ろうとカメラを始めたんですが、周りにフィルマーがいなかったのもあってわりとすぐにシフトしました。フォトグラファーのシモヤンの存在があったから映像にしろ写真にしろ、より撮り手に惹かれたんだと思います。
• 一番欲しい機材：
  永久にバッテリーの減らない壊れないボディに、何しても絶対傷付かない割れないフィッシュアイ。
• 『Where we saw the light』撮影秘話：
  もとはユウダイとテープで進めていた撮影だったんですが、それと並行してペンペンとはHDで撮り進めようとしてたところを無理言ってテープで撮らせてもらえることになり、イッセイは『POP』でどれぐらい使われるか分からなかった映像のほとんどが手元に残るかたちになったりで、だったら3人をメインにして作品を作ろうということで集まるべくして集まり始まったプロジェクトです。
• 作品づくりで大切にしていること：
  色味や空気感とか周りの景色にも気を配ったり。スケートの撮影は相手に頑張ってもらえるように自分も全力で。
• 撮影時の珍エピソード：
  追い撮り中に撮ってる自分が一番ブチ転けてキズだらけになり、撮られてる側よりもやった感を出してしまった。
• 編集作業で欠かせない嗜好品：
  苦味強めのブラックコーヒーと甘いもの。
• 撮りたいスケーターの特徴：
  プッシュが速い。自分のスタイルと正反対のスケーターは予想のつかない動きをするので撮っててめっちゃ楽しいです。
• 撮りたくないスケーターの特徴：
  傲慢な人。
• 最近一番テンションが上がったセッション：
  同い歳のヤツら数人とでセッションできたとき。ローカルに同じ年代のスケーターがなんでかいないんですよ。

  真冬。職場でも真冬でみんなジャケットやパーカーの中、自分は半袖で仕事しててよくイジられる。
• 最後にブチ切れたこと：
  この間床に調理前の蕎麦をぶちまけた自分に。

  メシをぶちまけた時（笑）。

  チェンソーマンのコスプレマスク。

  プレゼントしたものなんですが、Alvvaysってバンドの確か限定カラーバイナルのものでした。

  When I visited my uncle’s workplace, there was a skateboard sitting in the corner. I started playing around with it, and he ended up giving it to me. That was the beginning.

  And Now (Nick Trapasso), First Love (Ryan Gallant), Mind Field (Dylan Rieder), POP (Issei Kumatani, Logan Da Silva Ortiz), Whimsy (Shinya Masuda), and everyone who appeared in Where We Saw the Light… the list goes on.

• What’s great about DC:
  Strictly the OG stuff. That raw feel. The riders (I’m still shocked Aleka left). And the shoes never slip off even when the laces are super loose, so comfy. Please make them more widely available.
• How you got into filming:
  Around 21, I wanted something in my life besides skating. I first picked up a camera to take photos, but since no one around me was filming, I shifted pretty quickly. Having the photographer Shimoyan around definitely pulled me toward the creative side, whether filming or shooting photos.
• Gear you want most:
  A body with infinite battery that never breaks, plus a fisheye that never gets scratched or cracked no matter what.
• Behind the scenes of Where We Saw the Light:
  It originally started as a tape-based project with Yudai. At the same time, I was planning to film Penpen in HD, but I begged him and he agreed to switch to tape as well. As for Issei, most of his clips that weren’t used in POP ended up with me. With all that lining up, it naturally evolved into a project featuring the three of them at the core.
• What you value when creating:
  Paying close attention to color tones, atmosphere, and the surrounding scenery. In skate filming, I go all-in so the skater can go all-in too.
• A funny filming incident:
  While filming a line, I was the one who slammed the hardest and got covered in cuts, ended up looking more “accomplished” than the skater.
• Editing must-haves:
  Strong, bitter black coffee and something sweet.
• Skaters you like to film:
  Fast pushers. Skaters whose style is the total opposite of mine. Because I can’t predict their movements, filming them is insanely fun.
• Skaters you don’t want to film:
  Arrogant people.
• Most hyped recent session:
  When I got to skate with a few guys my age. For some reason, there aren’t many skaters my age around my local area.
• Summer or winter:
  Winter. Even at work in the middle of winter, everyone’s in jackets and hoodies while I’m in a T-shirt, so people tease me a lot.
• Last thing that made you snap:
  When I spilled uncooked soba noodles all over the floor.
• When you get negative:
  When I spill food (lol).
• Best buy of the year:
  A Chainsaw Man cosplay mask.
• Best find:
  It was a gift, but it was a limited-color vinyl from the band Alvvays.
• Favorite adult actress:
  I’ll look into it.

  Revisiting nearby areas I haven’t checked in a while on purpose.

  Well… lots of things.

  Tax single people.

  I’m the type who really just wings it, so I don’t have anything locked in. But I’d be happy if I can keep doing things for the people who need me.
