VHSMAG (V): You joined the G-SHOCK team at the same time as your April teammate, Yuto Horigome. How did this partnership come about, and how did you feel when it was finalized?
Chloe Covell (C): Joining G-SHOCK at the same time as Yuto is so cool because we share a lot of the same sponsors so it’s cool to be added to another team with him.
V: Now that you’re officially a member of the G-SHOCK team, what are your honest thoughts?
C: I’m so hyped to be a part of the G-SHOCK team. They have so many cool designs and it is an amazing brand.
V: What was your image of G-SHOCK before joining the team? Are there any specific features or points you’ve always liked?
C: My image of G-SHOCK has always been great and a specific feature I love about it is how they make their watches in many different colours and styles.
V: In skateboarding, slams are inevitable. For you, what is your definition of "Toughness," that strength to keep getting back up?
C: My definition of toughness is not only slamming hard and getting back up but it's the mental strength whether it’s battling a trick that could take hours or weeks and even months or when there is a lot of pressure you just have to push through.
V: Which model do you wear daily?
C: The model I love to wear every day is the GM-S2110-1A7, it looks so cool and has a fashionable but also sporty look.

V: You’re well-known for your technical tricks like switch flips and frontside flips. Who are the skaters or what are the videos that influenced your current style?
C: Some skaters that I have been watching a lot lately are Zion Effs and Zac Saraceno because they both have such good style and a really good bag of tricks and in my opinion Zac Saraceno has one of the best switch flips .
V: Who is the skater that inspires you the most in the world right now?
C: The skate that inspires me the most right now is Zion Wright because he goes so hard, he’s a great person as well and has a really good mentality.
V: The level of women’s street skating is rising at an incredible pace. Within that, what do you consider your "ultimate weapon" that no one else can beat?
C: Women’s skating is definitely rising so fast at the moment with so many more girls getting into it and also all the top girls throwing new cool tricks down but I would consider my ultimate weapon trick would be a massive frontside flip or switch flip.
V: What has been the most memorable moment of your career so far?
C: The most memorable moment of my career was definitely the 2023 Sydney SLS when I got first because it was the first time SLS came to Australia and for me to win for the home crowd for the first time was so amazing.
V: Looking back at all the contests you’ve entered, which one stands out to you the most and why?
C: The contest that has stood out to me the most was the SLS Santa Monica take over event because the takeover events have a different type of energy, the competition was so great and when the comp finished everyone went over to skate the triple set which was so sick to see.
V: What are your specific goals for competitions or any special projects you want to achieve during your 16th year?
C: I want to get a few video parts done this year so hopefully I can make that happen and I just want to have an all round fun and hard working year and just try my best all the time.
V: You’ve clearly dominated the contest circuit so far. Looking ahead, how do you see your career evolving?
C: For my future career I just want to work super hard and never ever give up on anything, learn new tricks, make new friends and have a blast.
