  • Started skating:
    2016
  • What got you into skating:
There was a toy skateboard at home.
  • Best thing about your hometown:
The train access is really good haha.
  • Best thing about Osaka:
All my friends have so much energy, so even if I’m having a bad day, I end up having fun and forgetting about it right away. It’s the best environment.
  • Something you’re particular about when skating:
As soon as I get to a spot, before I even start skating, I wax the ledge.
  • One thing you never compromise on:
Keeping my body completely steady when I’m sliding a ledge.
  • Go-to ledge tricks:
    Frontside noseslide and backside noseslide.
  • Trick you struggle with:
    Heelflip.
  • The secret to holding really long ledge slides:
I kept practicing them while telling myself, “I can still hold it.”
  • What you're thinking about during a long slide:
Whether I should flip the board out or not.
  • Words that get you excited:
“There’s a long ledge over there.”
  • Words that annoy you:
“Sticky,” when someone says it about a ledge.
  • Best wax:
    Kabebu.
  • Skaters who have influenced you:
Guy Mariano, Griffin Gass, Miles Silvas, Marc Johnson, and Hiroyuki Matsuo.
  • Skate videos you’ve watched the most:
    Girl’s Mouse and Yeah Right!
  • Best video part:
    Miles Silvas’ part in 1947.
  • A skater you were hyped to meet:
Miles Silvas. I ran into him at a skatepark and got to skate with him.
  • What you like about Girl:
So many of the riders throughout its history are legends, and everyone has such an amazing style.
  • Dream sponsor:
    adidas Skateboarding.
  • Most memorable place you’ve skated overseas:
The “3 Up 3 Down” in San Francisco. It was much harder than it looked, and even with slide tricks, which are usually my strength, I struggled.
  • LA street skating:
The ledges are crusty as hell.
  • LA bathroom situation:
The lock on the squat toilet didn’t work.
  • Biggest culture shock overseas:
In the US, even people you’ve never met before will casually start talking to you like you’ve been friends forever. That was a real culture shock for me. It was super fun. I loved it!
  • What you're particular about with your hairstyle:
Lately I don’t wear a hat when I skate, so it’s basically just messy hair.
  • Something embarrassing that happened at your part-time job:
I thought one of my friends had come in, so I started talking to them, but it was someone else. So awkward.
  • Last song you listened to:
    Sheena Ringo, “Koufukuron.”
  • Netflix recommendation:
I recently watched the live-action version of Yu Yu Hakusho.
  • Unexpected hobby:
    I like drawing sometimes.
  • Superstition you believe in:
If you make a wish on a shooting star, it’ll come true. I’ve only seen a shooting star a few times, though haha.
  • When you feel lonely:
When I’m skating alone and get wrecked.
  • Current project:
    Working on a solo part.
  • Goal for this year:
    Finish my solo part.
  • Goal as a skateboarder:
Get a pro model and do a trick that nobody in the world has ever done before.
  • A message to yourself 10 years from now:
    Stay healthy.
